Welcome to the Hugo Kauder Society

We are proud to announce that the Society will be working with traditional Arab music group Sharq Attack to bring the stories of New Haven's refugees, as well as Hugo Kauder's music, to life. We thank everyone who auditioned with us, and invite you all to join us this September for Recovering Voices: The Sound of Refuge, our event in New Haven.

Based in Brooklyn, NY, Sharq Attack plays music stemming from the maqam tradition of the middle east, ranging from Arabic favorites to obscure rarities to modern originals. We're excited to hear how they reimagine Kauder's work in September!
