Finalist: Kathryn Flum
Quickly making her mark on the music world as a flutist of great diversity, Kathryn L. Flum frequently performs in the greater Chicagoland area with ensembles such as the Chicago Sinfonietta, Oistrach Symphony Orchestra and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and has held the second flute and piccolo positions with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra. An avid chamber musician, Ms. Flum is a member of the Chicago-based woodwind quintet, Alito, and was a member of the Agassiz Trio during her time in Flagstaff. Ms. Flum has been afforded opportunities to perform in masterclasses with Paul Edmund-Davies, Ransom Wilson, Marina Piccinini and Adam Kuenzel. She received her Bachelor of Music in Performance from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, under Laura Barron and is currently pursuing her Master's of Music Performance Degree at DePaul University under Mary Stolper.
